Position
We sit in a gap between 'spreadsheet only' developers, who propose a spreadsheet based solution whatever the problem, and traditional software houses who mainly do database based systems.
We do Excel and VBA where appropriate, but we also migrate existing spreadsheet models to more powerful platforms such as Access or SQL Server. In particular we migrate slow VBA code to C++ to realise massive performance increases.
Our developers also run our training and seminar sessions which means that delegates can be assured of useful real world information and practical experience.
Services In many organisations mission critical pricing and reporting applications are written in spreadsheets. Our aim is to assist in the development and maintenance of this important resource.
We can offer support throughout the full development lifecycle, and beyond. We cover both the client and server side. If the legacy system is a spreadsheet, we can convert it to a set of server based components, or we can wrap it up with a queuing process and make it available on the internet.
Our solutions are based on Microsoft Visual Studio ( V6 and .net), in either C++, C# or VB, with Sharepoint, SQL Server or other components as required.

Codematic Structure
The main developer behind Codematic is Simon Murphy. Simon brings in other experts as required based on their on-line contributions to the development community. Simon works from a home office so don't be surprised if you occasionally hear normal (/lively) family life in the background between answering the phone and getting back to the peace of the office.
Working with Codematic
Pretty simple really, contact us with some idea of what you are after and discuss next steps. Phone calls are welcome, but email is preferred, and checked every 2 hours or so. You can email spreadsheets up to 5Mb or so, larger ones can be uploaded directly (contact us for details) or posted on a pen drive or CD (Zipping .xls files often halfs their size). We then estimate the work required to meet your objectives, discuss any other issues and provide a price estimate or quote. We can work from our office or your site. All work is treated confidentially.
We have clients in the US, Asia and Eastern Europe that we have never met, so geography is no barrier, we have mechanisms in place to cope with distance. For example our remote patching facility to modify client workbooks miles away from our office. We can also match time zones, working when clients work to improve responsiveness.
